Hello everyone,

Its been a while so we thought we would update you on our last few days.

Since the trek across the Raro, we have chilled and met some incredibly different people.
The Swedens: A couple from the northern wastelands of Sweden who were poles apart from each other (get it?!?) She was a ginger (dyed blonde) hairdresser who had a tendency to over use the word Fxxk and to scream at the merest hint of anything with wings. He was an electronics salesman who was hilarious and somewhat more subdued than her. Both however were great fun and we fully intend on imposing ourselves on them as we venture round New Zealand.
UK People: As we are, all very nice and with a similar tendency to drink too much and run around doing silly things!
Main happenings: One evening was spent having a few drinks with a girl called Katie, The Swedens and and English Couple called Phil and Katie.. needless to say, several trips to the shop to refill on the booze were needed and the night ended with the females of the party chucking themselves in the sea.
We managed to see a bit more of the island by hiring some scooters.. We used them to venture further afield to various snorkelling patches and in the process saw some incredible fish.. angel fish, giant clams and some little blighters that chased pol and made her scream!
Island night on Thursday was excellent.. saw some authentic half nude Polynesian men (and women) strut their stuff and make us all laugh. The night was compered by a chunky bald maori who had numerous digs at the brits!.

In Fiji now and are about to embark on an island adventure.. staying in a nice hotel about four hours by boat from the main island in Fiji.. will update in a couple of days with some more pics.

Loz: Happy Birthday and well done on the RAF.
Phil: Can you reply to your sis's email if you want the money for the bills.

Time is up so good bye.

love and hugs

Hi you two! Thanks for the call tonight. I didn't want to keep you talking because I know that calls are expensive. Can't sleep tonight and the SUDOKO has got to me and woken me up big time. Dave is snoring like a.......so I thought I would see if you had written. I guess the Swedens must be a new breed of people, perhaps they are related to the Denmarks....lol. It sounds as though you are managing to find plenty of drinking partners and a good supply of alcohol. Is it as good as you had dreamed so far????? Work was a pain this week. All we seem to do is endeavour to educate people about things that are common sense. They have no perception of RIGHT and WRONG. David starts his new job on Monday. I think he is a wee bit nervous. Haven't made it to the bank to put in your cheque for £29 but will try this week. I miss you but having this site is helping.

Love to you both...MUMXXX

It is lovely to keep up to date with what you are doing. Ali computer is working great thank you, as you can see as I am using it. Nothing much happening here. Oh by the way did you know that Arsenal beat Man U on their own turf. Thought I would just keep you up to date. Brian is going to Manchester on a course next month for 8 days really upset that you will not be there to go out for a drink with. Continue having a great time.
Love the baggies.

Sorry I didn't have a proper chat with you this morning,Phil was on his way to the train. We will see him again next weekend when he is part of the prawn sandwich brigade at Hull v Chrystal Palace on Saturday.I'm not suprised you find the Swedes different,I think it might be something to do with the fact they hit themselves with birch twigs and roll naked in the snow, still you're a long way from snow where you are so I don't need to worry about you.We went out for Loz's birthday last night, there were 16 of us, when he entered the room we all put false on moustaches and sang the dambusters theme. He is suffering from a hangover,we're fine! We are on a crusade to get him fit for the R.A.F but it's an up hill struggle.Dad has been to the tip today as the implement sheds were a little like Steptoe & Son,I'm afraid it will take more than one trip.Well I will sighn off now,I am looking forward to tomorrow so much,I have whole day of housework in front of me interrupted by a visit to the dentist. miss you xxx Mum.

Ran across this while researching a 2nd (for us) round the world trip... don't forget to list the name of restaurants and hotels that you like or hate, where you stayed. We didn't, and after three years, can't remember the good from the bad, but there were wonderful places we would recommend (if only we could remember the names of them)! We hit a high price of $250/night in Seoul, Korea (business, horrible) and $2.50/night in Laos (with hammock, waterfall, elephants and great food, wonderful) - traveling is fantastic. The best parts of travel come in the most unexpected times and places. [Only one world of advice, the world is fairly predictable... except for India. That's the only country on this planet that can't be explained, only experienced.]
