Hello everybody...
Feeling a tad tender today as we managed a most amazing cross island trek yesterday (8km in total)
6 of us from the hostel geared up at nine oclock and after a short bus ride, entered the interior of the island, shortly before 11. After stumbling across a tied up pig and several incidents of roadkill.. the road disappeared (completely) and all we had to follow were muddy footprints trailing off into the forest. Well, it got worse as the almost vertical climbs up tree roots and over branches nearly got the better of ali as he banged his head and looked a complete loser as sweat began to appear where it really shouldnt do!

Any way, to cut a long story short, we made it to the needle (the highest point on the trek) where we consumed two marmite sandwiches (Thanks Pols Mum!) and managed to cool off while taking some great pics.

The way down was slightly easier and after some closer encounters with some rather large spiders, we made it to the waterfall where we all cooled off and gave the mosquitoes a feast. Four km's later and we arrived back at the hostel, slightly worse for wears but in need of some alcholic refreshments! Last night was spent drunk and playing some card games with the rest of the UK contingent (great fun) but someone has pinched our lonely planet..grr.
Thanks for the comments everyone,

Alis mum: Sorry about the day off yesterday.. hope this placates your hunger for more news!

Miss you all

hello from a windy E.Yorkshire.Rabbitoid is fine and growing into a "were rabbit".There is a 1st class letter for Ali from Northamton, don't like to open his mail routinely, please advise!Loz is warey about his interview, found it hard and is not holding out a lot of hope.Bin bag is just as noisey ,Jack is still discusting,Rio has had the snip and I have been toiling in the NHS sweat shops, a slave among the orks and trolls.Glad you enjoyed the Marmite I'll send you some more for Chrissy via Caroline in Aukland.Dads gone off to work among the trolls on his pink beast and has orchestra tonight.Heard from PJ.concerned about the coup in Thiland as he was just about to book his ticket he is waiting to hear from Conan now.No other news,I'm off to feed "were rabbit" now, xxx.

P.S.From Rowley, good news from R.A.F.provisional date 1st Nov.just have to wait for security checks [I hope there's nothing you have'nt told us!]then it can be confirmed. This bit of good news balances out the fact that yesterday Loz's window crashed to the ground [I think he was haveing a crafty fag out of it at the time]hitting the TV dish on the way down, unfortunatley it didn't hit discussting Jack, so he lives to cock his leg again. The lawn mower broke mid lawn, the damp has appeared again big time in the Goat House and worse Were Rabbit went to the warren in the sky.To Dawn- I am fine ,hope various wedding plans going well, will ring you soon.Meanwhile Pollyali enough views of waveing palms we want some of you eating marmite and snorkeling with blobby things and I don't mean Polly!!jokeing.thank you for the photos Tahiti looks ok even if it wasn't.BFN Mum

Glad you guys are enjoying your good selves! Maisy started swimmimg lessons yesterday, she loved it. Apart from that life continues much the same - that's a good thing. Never really thought I'd say this but, I love being a housewife. I don't miss work one bit! Anyway, I look forward to reading about the rest of your travels.
Love Emily x.
